308 posted by Pakistan after winning the toss and they will be pleased with their efforts. Top-order got them off to a flyer before Babar Azam continued his good form and added 69 runs. Haris Sohail came out with intent at the end and made good use of the platform set to give South Africa plenty of headaches. Tough chase coming up but the Proteas have the firepower to be able to do it.

And that is that. Not the greatest performance from South Africa and it means they are out of the tournament. Their batting lacked impetus throughout and other than some flourishing boundaries it never looked like they would chase down the total set. Pakistan bowled superbly with Mohammad Amir setting the tone before Wahab Riaz came on at the end to mop up the tail.
Still possible for Pakistan to make the top four from here and if they keep playing like they did today they will be a dangerous team to come up against.
