A tough chase awaits Scotland Women - Scotland Women now face a daunting target of 201 for victory. To challenge a strong England side, they will need an exceptional batting performance and perhaps one of their finest displays in the format. Can they rise to the occasion, or will England Women make it three wins in a row? We will find out shortly. Stay tuned as the chase gets underway.
A quick chat - Alice Capsey is up for a word. She describes reaching 200 as a brilliant achievement and praises Kemp and Gibson for the way they finished the innings. She adds that she thoroughly enjoyed watching the ball fly all around the ground. Looking ahead, she believes the key with the ball is to bowl straight, as any width on offer will be punished, while variations in pace can also prove effective.
Scotland Women struggled with the ball - It was a disappointing outing for Scotland Women with both the ball and in the field. They put down several chances and were generally untidy throughout the innings, allowing England to capitalize. Kirstie Gordon was the standout performer with two wickets, while Hannah Rainey and Priyanaz Chatterji also delivered disciplined spells amid a challenging day for the bowling unit.
The batting depth - Alice Capsey and Heather Knight made valuable contributions through the middle overs. Their partnerships ensured the momentum was maintained and provided the platform for a late assault. The real acceleration came in the closing stages of the innings. Freya Kemp and Danielle Gibson unleashed a stunning counterattack, adding 61 runs in just 21 balls. The duo found boundaries at will and punished the Scotland bowlers all around the ground, powering England to a formidable total of 200.
England Women cruise to 200 - England Women produced a superb finish to reach 200/5 from their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. The innings got off to a shaky start as Jones departed for a golden duck, while Danni Wyatt-Hodge was unable to make a significant contribution. However, Sophia Dunkley, playing her first game of the competition, seized control during the powerplay with a brilliant half-century, laying a solid foundation for the innings.

The skipper of England Women - Charlie Dean says that they could have been more clinical, but Scotland played well. She adds that the girls were really good and she likes to be the captain of the side. She reckons that it feels great to get a massive total and ends by saying that they will try and win their following games as well.

She adds that the fielding was exceptional, and they have learned a lot from this game. She reckons that the openers set a tone for the innings, and they are excited for their next game as well, and ends by saying that they will play with the same intent.

Player of the Match - Sophia Dunkley is the Player of the Match for her knock of 57 runs in 37 balls. She says that the surface was a bit tricky, but they enjoyed their time. She adds that she feels good about contributing to the team. She adds that they played well and they are happy to get to that 200-run mark.
The task was way too uphill - Ultimately, chasing a target of 200 required a miracle, and the asking rate just kept climbing. Skipper Kathryn Bryce played a magnificent, fighting knock, and later resistance from Pippa Sproul and Kirstie Gordon showed Scotland's incredible spirit. However, the top-order partnerships just couldn't stretch beyond the Powerplay. Scotland's batters kept fighting bravely until the final ball, but fell short and ended with 162/7.
Scotland started well - Chasing a mountain of 201 runs, Scotland refused to be intimidated and came out swinging from the word go. Katherine Fraser scored a fearless quickfire 23. Alongside Carter, Fraser helped Scotland race to a flying start, putting up 38 runs in no time and giving the English bowlers a genuine scare in the Powerplay. However, the breakthrough came when Charlie Dean cleaned up Fraser in the fourth over, slowing down the Scots' early momentum.
A convincing win for England Women! England's innings began with absolute drama as Kirstie Gordon struck with the very first ball, sending Amy Jones packing for a golden duck. But if Scotland thought they had England on the ropes, they were mistaken. Sophia Dunkley led a furious counterattack with a blazing 57, well-supported by Alice Capsey’s brisk 40. Just when Scotland dragged themselves back into the contest during the middle overs, Freya Kemp and Dani Gibson launched an absolute assault at the death. They plundered a staggering 59 runs in the final three overs, punishing Scotland's fielding lapses to lift England to a massive 200/5.
