Ross Adair (Ireland) has scored 171 runs at an average of 42.8 in his last four men’s T20I innings including 100 in his most recent innings against South Africa (29 September 2024); he had only scored 97 runs in his six previous innings in the format.
West Indies pair Nicholas Pooran (39) and Rovman Powell (38) have hit the third and fourth most sixes of any players in men’s T20Is since the start of 2024 (Finn Allen – 42 for New Zealand and Abhishek Sharma – 41 for India).
Gareth Delany (47) needs three more wickets to become the eighth player to take 50 wickets for Ireland in men’s T20Is; he took 3/16 in a Player of the Match performance in his last match against West Indies (21 October 2022).
Jason Holder (West Indies) has scored 107 runs in men’s T20Is since the start of 2024, the most of any player without being dismissed; he has recorded a strike rate of 201.9 in that span.
Ireland have recorded a bowling strike rate under 20 in each of their last four men’s T20Is; they had only reached that mark once in five previous matches in the format.
West Indies have scored 2.55 runs per scoring shot in men’s T20Is since the start of 2024, only Australia (2.59) have recorded more amongst Test playing countries; although, only Zimbabwe (44%) and Ireland (43%) have logged higher batting dot ball rates than West Indies (42%).
Ireland will be looking to avoid back-to-back defeats in men’s T20Is at Bready Cricket Club for the first time since August 2018, following their five-run loss against Zimbabwe in their most recent match at the venue (4 September 2021).
Ireland have won only one of their last eight multigame bilateral men’s T20I series (D1 L6) – a 2-1 victory against Zimbabwe (December 2023); they are winless in their four series since then (D1 L3).
West Indies have lost their last four multigame bilateral men’s T20Is series; the last and only time they recorded a longer winless run in such series was a span of five (D1 L4) from March 2019 to January 2020.
This is set to be the third multigame bilateral men’s T20I series between Ireland and West Indies; each of the two previous iterations have ended in a 1-1 draw (January 2020 and February 2014).
