... THE RUN CHASE ...
The late flourish - Sana made Bangladesh pay dearly for the dropped catch, hammering a sensational 45 off just 30 balls before falling on the final delivery of the innings. The late flurry powered Pakistan to a competitive total of 145/8 from their 20 overs. Bangladesh will sorely regret their missed opportunity in the field, as they now need 146 runs to secure victory. The costly reprieve - With Pakistan in deep trouble, skipper Fatima Sana walked in and was handed a golden lifeline when Bangladesh shelled a simple catch on the very first ball she faced. That lapse proved fatal for the bowling side. Sana joined forces with the experienced Aliya Riaz to stabilise the innings, building a magnificent 67-run stand for the sixth wicket that wrested the momentum right back.
A flying start followed by a sudden collapse - Pakistan got off to a flying start after opting to bat, with Gull Feroza taking the attack to the bowlers and powering the team to 44/0 in the powerplay. However, the game turned on its head immediately after the field restrictions were lifted. Bangladesh’s bowling attack led a ferocious middle-overs fightback, striking in quick succession through Shorna Akter and Nahida Akter to trigger a collapse that left Pakistan reeling at 67/5 in the 12th over.
OUT! CAUGHT! A wicket to end the innings. Pakistan Women finish on 145/8. Full and across off. Sana charges down the track, looking to go back over the bowler's head. Gets it only as far as long off, where Dilara Akter settles under it. The ball gets a bit big on her as she attempts to take the catch close to her chest. She juggles a bit but eventually manages to cling to the ball.
On a back of a length, on middle. Rubab pulls it to deep mid-wicket and brings the captain back on strike with a single.
Across off, on a nagging length. Sana smears it to wide long on and will have to settle for a single.

OUT! TUBA HASSAN IS RUN OUT! Tuba has sacrificed her wicket here. Flat and short, on off. Hassan looks to force it away on the off side but chops it down the deck. As the ball dribbles down the pitch, Fatima Sana sets off for the single. Tuba hesitates initially but eventually decides to cross over. Nahida moves to her left to pick the ball up and breaks the stumps at her end with Hassan well short.
Full and outside off. Sana smacks it to deep cover for a single.
FOUR! Thumped! On the shorter side, outside off. Sana stays beside the line of the ball and frees her arms. Slaps it over extra cover and picks up a boundary.
Nahida Akter will bowl the final over.
FOUR! That is a quality shot. Not a lot wrong with the ball, very wide and full as well. Hassan moves a long way towards the off side and gets under the ball. Goes inside out over cover and the sweeper cover flings herself to her right to flick the ball away but her effort goes in vain. The fielder seems to have injured herself in the process and the physio is out to have a look.
Tuba Hassan walks in to bat now.
OUT! STUMPED! Nigar Sultana makes no mistake this time. With Ritu Moni at the top of her mark, Nigar gestured to bowl it wide, and the bowler obliged. Keeps it near the wide guideline, very full. Riaz steps out but yorks herself and cannot get her bat down to squeeze it out. Sultana moves to her right, gathers the ball cleanly and breaks the stumps to catch Riaz short of her ground.
Around the tramline, pushes the length up. Sana can't get under it and smashes it to long off for a run.
Outside off, Riaz steps out and takes the ball on the full, forcing it to long off. They cross.
SIX! Clean strike! On a length, outside off. Riaz takes a couple of steps down the track and cashes in on the width, clobbering it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.
Very full and near the tramline on off. Sana reaches out but mishits it towards long off for a single.
Pakistan Women are 125/5 after 18 overs. Ritu Moni is back on.
Pace off ball, on a good length. Sana taps it to the right of extra cover and picks up a single. 11 runs off the over, 35 off the last 3.
FOUR! In the gap! On a good length, on off. Sana presses back and opens up the off side. Slams it to the right of extra cover and the long off fielder is beaten to her left.
Very full, on off. Riaz hits it back past the bowler and to the right of long off for one.
Full and angled in at the sticks. Sana comes down the track and drills it to long off for a single.

FOUR BYES! Oh, Marufa Akter got it all wrong there. Akter slips in a high full toss, flirting with the waistline. Sana is taken aback and fends at it but misses. The ball bounces awkwardly in front of the keeper, Nigar Sultana, who cannot make the stop and is beaten to her left. The 50-run stand comes up.
Flatter and shorter, on off, that is punched off the back foot wide of cover for a single. A productive over for Pakistan, 15 runs off it.
Full and on off. Riaz pats it wide of cover and picks up a single.
SIX! High and long enough! Floated up, on off. Riaz uses her feet and as well as her long levers to good effect. She swings through the line and pumps it over long on for half a dozen.
The big game awaits - That's the bronze medal secured by Pakistan, but there is more action to come later in the day. The gold-medal clash between India and Sri Lanka is up next, with the first ball scheduled for 5 am GMT. We look forward to your company then. Cheers!
Fatima and Aliya to the rescue - After electing to bat first, Pakistan's middle-over woes reared their head. Following a 46-run opening stand, they were reduced to 67/5. It could well have been 67/6 had Dilara Akter not dropped Fatima Sana on the very first ball the skipper faced. Fatima made Bangladesh pay dearly for it, putting on a 67-run stand with Aliya Riaz to help her side reach 146.
The chase never took off - A subdued Powerplay saw Bangladesh lose 3 wickets and score just 25 runs. They never really recovered from that start. Nigar Sultana and Sharmin Akhter put on a 47-run stand, but the lack of boundaries meant the required rate kept climbing and eventually spiralled out of control. Credit to Pakistan, who put in a collective effort with the ball and were tidy in the field as well. Umm-e-Hani was the pick of the bowlers, with the off-spinner returning figures of 3/10 from her 4 overs, including a wicket-maiden.
Pakistan clinch bronze - Pakistan found themselves in trouble with the bat but fought their way out of it before producing a near-perfect performance with the ball. That has earned them a return to the podium after missing out on a medal at the previous edition. Bangladesh, meanwhile, simply never got going with the bat and will finish outside the podium places. It also brings the curtain down on Nigar Sultana's tenure as T20I skipper.
That's it! A tad fuller, outside off, Sharmin Akhter swings hard but misses. Pakistan Women win by 31 runs and bag the Bronze Medal.

OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust. Loopy, on middle and leg, Rabeya Khan moves forward and looks to heave it. The ball hits low on the bat and carries towards deep mid-wicket. Saira Jabeen moves forward to her left and takes her 4th catch. Bangladesh Women are 93/7 after 17.5 overs.
Fullish, on off, Sharmin Akhter taps it to cover for a quick single. The fielder throws it to the keeper, who whips the bails off, but Rabeya Khan makes it home due to her dive.
FOUR! That's a good shot! Loopy, on middle and leg, Sharmin Akhter moves forward and chips it magnificently over the bowler's head for a boundary.

Saira Jabeen charges across to her left from deep square leg and dives, but the ball bursts through her hands and drops to the ground. The batters collect two runs.
