- South Africa will be looking to wrap up the series with a second victory; it would make it the third consecutive bilateral men's T20I series between South Africa and England that has been won by the home team.
- South Africa have won five of their six men's T20Is at home against England, including their last four on the bounce; their only defeat in that span came by a margin of just one run in November 2009.

- Lungi Ngidi (South Africa) took bowling figures of 3/30 in the first match of this series - just the second time he'd taken 3+ wickets in a T20I; he bowled exactly two-thirds of his balls in the first match of this series on a length, the highest of his T20I career thus far.
