  • The new entrants! And so, we end the sixth edition of The Hundred. Trent Rockets Women and Manchester Super Giants are the two new entrants in the league of the champions of this tournament. The day was built up as a possible double for the Trent Rockets and the Women lived up to their half of the billing, but it was not to be for Billings come the Men's match. Sunrisers Leeds endured a poor day, as they just did not arrive, turning the Women's final into a totally lopsided game. The Men's match was more or less one sided as well, but the drama towards the end made it fascinating to watch. Also, this is the first cup lifted by Jos Buttler in any format after leading England to the T20 World Cup title in 2022! It is a day to celebrate for Manchester and Nottingham. Tough luck to the ones on the losing side, but as some have correctly said, tomorrow never dies. Maybe, 2027 could turn out to be a better year for those. We bring an end to the proceedings on this lovely tournament and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for tuning in to our coverage, hoping that you enjoyed the same. Until next time, ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

  • Relief, after the last ball - That's the reaction of the victorious skipper of Manchester Super Giants, JOS BUTTLER, when asked about his feelings. Calls it a mixture of emotions. Details that there is the excitement and euphoria of winning, but there is also the relief after the last ball. Buttler believes that they deserve this trophy having won 5 games in a row. On taking over the captaincy mid season after original skipper Aiden Markram went home, he says that he found captaincy stressful but enjoyed it all the same. Lauds his bowling attack, which is varied and has lot of experience. On the pace trio at his disposal (Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue and Sonny Baker), Jos says that the three of them have grown game on game and it has been a pleasure to captain them. On being asked to delve about the team's major strengths, he feels that the team was genuinely strong all round. Adds that they had brilliant performances from everyone. JB details that the two batting openers at the top kept setting it up but adds that the bowlers have performed brilliantly too. Does not want to take anything away from the coaching staff, crediting Tom Moody and Justin Langer for contributing immensely behind the scenes.

  • PLAYER OF THE YEAR (MVP) AND PLAYER OF THE SERIES - There were multiple candidates but after the blistering knock in the final, Manchester Super Giants' TIM SEIFERT has been given both the awards. While he hammered 72 (38) in the final, he ended the tournament with 394 runs, the second highest, just 22 behind Sunrisers' Mitchell Marsh. Seifert averaged 49.25 with the bat and struck at a rate of 168.37, notching up 5 fifties in 10 innings. Seifert starts by saying that the main thing is that they won, and given the amazing last five games they played, they deserved the win. Adds that they had a balanced side, and even someone like Tall Paul (Paul Walter), who came in later in the tournament, did his job, and he enjoyed batting with Paul. On the surfaces, Tim says that he did enjoy playing and adapting on different surfaces, as he was playing in The Hundred for the first time. He then goes on to say that he always knew Liam Dawson had it in control and admits that things can get close in such games.

  • Bittersweet moment - It is a difficult moment for Sam Billings as he manages to flash a smile. Lord's organizes a joint picture of the captains of the Women's and Men's side of the Trent Rockets - Ashleigh Gardner and Billings - to jointly share the Hundred Helix Trophy. It has been introduced this season, as an award to the franchise with the best performance across both genders. It would have been so much better for Billings had he managed to win this final as well. Ash though, is all smiles, lifting her second trophy, in two months! In July, as a player for Australia and here, as skipper for the Rockets.

  • ... THE PRESENTATION ...

  • It is a privilege - That's the humble reply of TOM MOODY, the global director for the RPSG group, overseeing the development of Manchester Super Giants, when asked about his achievement of winning 4 titles in The Hundred. Calls it a great achievement for Manchester, winning their first title. On coach Justin Langer's contribution, he says that it not just Langer but there have been other coaches from the IPL who have given their contributions and inputs to the franchise. Moody stresses that the messages to the players was pretty clear from these coaches. On Tim Seifert, he says that over the last couple of years, Seifert has been peaking as a player. Reminds us that the Kiwi had a great 2026 T20 World Cup. Tom stresses that the management knew he is a dynamic player and needed a player of his calibre on their home ground. On the experienced Liam Dawson finishing off the match, he says that experience with the ball is really important. TM details that Dawson was retained from the previous season and was really important for Manchester's campaign. Ends by saying that the left-armer has offered a lot to the franchise, not only with the ball, but even wth the bat.

  • Too close in the end - Manchester Super Giants' SONNY BAKER shares his thoughts on the final, saying that the boys seemed to be in control, but it became too close in the end. Adds that there are always nerves in a final, but he backed the boys to get the job done. On the pace trio of MSG, he says that they bounce off each other nicely and can bowl at different times in the game. On his preference, he says that he can swing the ball early on as well, but it suits the team that he bowls at the death more, and he is happy to do what is necessary for the team.

  • ... A FEW CHATS ...

  • Not a big enough score - In the Women's edition this season, Lord's has proven to be a difficult ground to chase. But in the Men's, chasing has been the way to go. In a final, even to put runs on the board, the Rockets needed a minimum of 170-175. However, the Rockets were just not allowed to launch in the Powerplay, despite not losing a wicket and the batters simply could not get going. Aneurin Donald injected some momentum into the innings, but at a very crucial stage, Sam Billings ran himself out, which probably was the telling point in this game. Towards the end, Lewis Gregory pushed the score close to 160, but the side ended up with the top 3 not converting their starts and that hurt them.

  • Great figthback by the Rockets - At the innings break, Trent Rockets might have been 15-20 runs short of a winning total. They needed early wickets to stand a chance of defending 158 but that never came. Barring Mitchell Santner, no bowler managed to withstand the onslaught from Seifert and at 136/2, needing 23 runs from 23 balls, the match was already dead. However, easily the best captain in The Hundred, Sam Billings, found a way to turn things around even from that stage. He probably miscalculated the usage of Mitchell Santner's overs but that takes nothing away from his inspirational fightback in a buried game. Mohammad Amir ended as the highest wicket taker with 3 scalps but in reality, the best bowler, of not just the innings, but the whole match was Santner, with bowling figures of 0/8 in 15 balls. No batter, including Seifert, could get a hold of the Kiwi veteran.

  • The new-ball barrage - Normally, this is attributed to the bowlers. But in this case, the title goes to Tim Seifert. He had no doubts in his mind as he attacked from the very first ball. Seifert batted for more than three quarters of the run chase - 78 deliveries out of the team's allotted 100. He helped the Super Giants clobber 48/0 in the Powerplay and continued attacking even beyond the fielding restrictions. He eventually finished with a magnificent 72 (38) with 4 fours and 7 sixes. 7 is the most number of sixes hit by an individual in the final of The Hundred, while 72 is the joint highest individual score as well in the same criteria. Last year, it was Will Jacks for Sam Billings' side. This year, Billings fell on the opposite end. The scorecard might show one bloke get a half century and the next best being 27. But that's because Manchester did not do the mistake of attacking from both ends. They batted around Seifert, ensuring that he is not starved off strike. After Seifert's dismissal though, things did get a little tricky, but eventually, they found a way to get over the line. This is the 5th win on the trot for Manchester Super Giants.

  • Not a match for the faint hearted - Cricket is called a gentleman's game. And a gentleman allows his opponent to take the first step. The Super Giants were clinical for nearly 80 percent of the run chase, but towards the end, they nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The Rockets, on the other hand, took too much of a gamble through Lewis Gregory and Ben Sanderson, leaving Mitchell Santner's 5 deliveries pending. Captains always take different decisions as compared to others and when they don't come off, they are always under scrutiny. The on-air commentators were constantly screaming to bowl Santner out around the 16th set, but he just wasn't given the chance to bowl his final set. Would be interesting to know what was the reason from Billings' point of view.

  • 4-peat but not for Billings - Sam Billings created a unique record in 2025. He became the first captain to lead his side, the then known Oval Invincibles, to win three finals in a row at The Hundred. This year, he was transferred to a different franchise, the Rockets and he tried making it 4 in 4. Billings could not get it, but another man certainly did. Tom Moody, who was the coach of the Invincibles from 2023-2025, has won his 4th straight edition of The Hundred, this time, in the company of Jos Buttler! Manchester Super Giants become the 4th side in 6th editions to lift the title, after missing out in successive editions in 2022 and 2023.

SIX! A mad, mad ending and there's a new name on the trophy! Liam Dawson goes berserk after hitting the winning six, and MANCHESTER SUPER GIANTS WIN BY 5 WICKETS. Ben Sanderson goes shorter this time, angling it into the batter. Dawson has a swing across the line, whacking it off the higher part of the blade. The ball goes high towards deep mid-wicket, teasing Finn Allen on the ropes, but it just carries on going and clears the ropes. It is indeed third time lucky for Manchester Super Giants.

  • 19.2

Swing and a miss, another dot. Shorter in length, outside off, Dawson pulls but misses.

  • 19.1

Wow, another dot and the tension keeps building. Good length on off, angling in. Liam Dawson runs down the track and looks to play it straight but gets beaten on the inside edge. No runs off the last 5 deliveries.

  • So we do get a chance to see Mitchell Santner bowl one more ball. Liam Dawson walks in next, at number 7, replacing Bracewell. Hang on, it is not Santner. Ben Sanderson it shall be! 0/24 in 15 balls so far.

  • End of Over 19

OUT! TRENT ROCKETS OVERTURN AN LBW DECISION. Very rare to see Michael Gough get it incorrect. On a good length, around off, angling in, Michael Bracewell got a long way across to tuck but missed and was hit on the pads. Amir appealed for LBW but Gough shook his head. Billings straightaway went for the review and Ball Tracking projected it to be hitting the leg stump! Two wickets in three balls and Mohammad Amir gives his side something to breathe. 3/29 for Amir and MANCHESTER SUPER GIANTS ARE 156/5, needing 3 runs off the final set of 5.

  • Close call! Michael Bracewell got a long way across there. The umpire has not given it LBW. Billings takes the review. Nothing on UltraEdge. Three reds!

  • 18.4

Still 3 needed, off 6 balls now. On a hard length, just outside the off stump. Michael Bracewell lets the ball come on and plays it late towards backward point.

  • Michael Bracewell walks in next, at number 6, replacing Klaasen, for the finishing duties.

  • 18.3
Heinrich Klaasen c Aneurin Donald b Mohammad Amir 11 (9)

OUT! BRILLIANT FROM DONALD. Delays the inevitable. A short ball, into the pitch, around off, angling away, Klaasen goes for the pull again, but this time, the ball hits the upper part of the bat. The ball flies into the wide pocket of mid-wicket and cow corner, but Aneurin Donald races across to his left and dives full stretch to take a stinger. There is hardly any celebration from the Rockets but just shows how great the level of fielding has been in this tournament. Klaasen cannot quite finish the job but he has got his team to the finishing line. MANCHESTER SUPER GIANTS ARE 156/4  and need 3 runs from 7 balls.

  • 18.2

Amir pitches it up on leg, shaping the ball back in. Klaasen stays in his crease and just pats it down to mid on.

  • 18.1

FOUR! WHAM! Short, outside off, Heinrich Klaasen gets on top of the bounce and pulls it through mid-wicket, beating deep square leg to his left! Just 3 more needed for the title now!

  • All eyes on Billings again. Has he made it too late to get Santner back into action? Even if he brings him on now, might well be the final set of the match. No! Mohammad Amir is back on. 1/25 in 15 balls so far. Very surrpising from Billings.

Back of a length, around off, Leus du Plooy stays back and dabs it down behind point.

  • 17.4

On middle and off, Heinrich punches this down to long on for a run. Doesn't want to give it away.

  • 17.3

Smart cricket from Klaasen. Length ball around off, Klaasen backs away and plays a checked drive, lofting it over covers. Not perfectly timed, but he will pick up two runs. 150 UP FOR THE SUPER GIANTS.

  • 17.2

Slower ball, back of the hand, on a length, around middle, Heinrich Klaasen looks to tap and run to the off side but the bowler quickly gets across to his left and the single is averted.

  • 17.1

A bit fuller and slanted wide of the off stump. Leus du Plooy steps across and drives it sweetly to the right of sweeper cover for a single.
